Please help with flood relief

The torrential storms that have hit the Midwest are devastating the lives of thousands of U.S. families. In cities such as Cedar Rapids and Des Moines in Iowa, the rising Mississippi waters reached historic levels and forced more than 40,000 families from their homes. As PEP went to press, massive flooding had hit six states.

DC 37’s national union, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, is appealing to its 1.4 million members to assist families affected by the storms and floods. In addition to extending help for victims through their jobs and as volunteers, many AFSCME members themselves need assistance.

Contributions should be made to the AFSCME Fallen Heroes Fund.

Please send donations to Executive Director Lillian Roberts, DC 37, 125 Barclay St., New York, NY 10007. DC 37 will bundle contributions from members and locals and send them to AFSCME. Earmark checks for “Midwest flood victims.”
