Police honor civilians in 102nd Precinct

Four members of Clerical-Administrative Employees Local 1549 were honored April 29 for their outstanding contributions to the 102nd Police Precinct in Kew Gardens, Queens. The civilian employees were honored alongside the uniformed officers of the precinct in a special ceremony that featured a Color Guard and other symbolic trappings that signified the importance of the occasion.

After the ceremony, which was held at the Forest Park band shell, family and friends joined the honorees at a barbeque sponsored by the precinct.

Local 1549 members who received merit awards for exemplary contributions to the Payroll Management and Roll Call departments were Denise Brown, Nancy Ambrosio, Doowatie (Joy) Sanassi and Sheila Menzies.

Principal Administrative Associate/Senior PAA Shop Steward Lauretta Humphey noted that, “Deputy Inspector Paul Piekarski went out of his way to recognize the civilian staff.”
