DC 37 endorses Hevesi

The District Council 37 Delegates Council voted unanimously at its monthly meeting March 28 to endorse State Comptroller Alan Hevesi for reelection in November.

The decision followed the unanimous recommendations of the council’s Screening Committee and Executive Board. In 2002, DC 37 supported Hevesi in his campaign for State Comptroller.

“We endorsed Hevesi for another four-year term because he has been an effective monitor of the state’s fiscal health and an advocate for our issues,” said DC 37 Executive Director Lillian Roberts.

“With our endorsement comes a pledge to put our powerful field operation to work to get out the vote on his behalf. This union has a record of electing its endorsed candidates to public office.”
