Caribbean Heritage acknowledged

Local 372 President Shaun Francois I, was awarded a community service award by New York State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, during his Caribbean Heritage Celebration on June 14. The celebration took place at Brooklyn Law School.

"I commend the comptroller for acknowledging the work of the leaders in the Caribbean community which is often ignored," Francois said.

Brooklyn City Council member Jumaane Williams, Michael Kevin Williams, editor of the Caribbean Life newspaper and Aleatha Williams, co-founder of the Bronx-based non-profit group Youth Leaders on the Move, were also honored at the event.
